Complete Author Bio: Jewel Scott, Marsha Rogers, shadowJewel
As with most writers, I began writing early in my life. However, serious
writing began in the mid-‘90’s when I joined the Ash Canyon Poets in
Carson City, Nevada. Ash Canyon Poets is a workshop group that meets
weekly. I am also a member of the Erotica Readers and Writers
Association, submitting my work to the scrutiny of other writers. With
support and encouragement from both groups, I considered publication of
some of my works.
Over the next few years several of my poems appeared in anthologies,
including Community in the American West, published by the Nevada
Humanities Committee; There’s No Place Like Home for the Holidays,
published by Papier Mache; 90 Poets for the Nineties, published by The
Seminole Press. Other poems appeared in magazines such as Pegasus,
Parchment Symbols, Warrior Poets, Remembrance, Night Roses, Our Journey
and Portals. My poetry appeared in all of the first four issues of High
Desert Review, a publication dedicated to the writing of Nevada educators.
Additionally, I was editor of the third edition of High Desert Review.
Some of my poetry has also appeared in online magazines such as Clean
Sheets. ENE, LdyJessika’s Adult Story Corner, and G. Gregory’s MyErotica.
On a weekly basis I update columns to Backwash as The Oldest Cyber-Geek I
Know (education) and Anything Under the Sun (editorial) and biweekly
publish the Wordcraft newsletter, also at Backwash. I am also currently
working as assistant editor and contributor to sex-kitten.net, an online
magazine devoted to women’s sexuality.
I write and maintain a website at http://www.msrogers.com dedicated
writing tips for teachers. In conjunction with that endeavor I publish a
weekly newsletter to educators about web sites which can be used in
classrooms. I also maintain two additional web sites: Rash’s Poetry
House contains poetry and Shadowjewel’s
Castle is dedicated to my
erotic scribblings.
